The picture Malory has in her office of her dog, Duchess, is in the same pose as a famous John Lennon/Yoko Ono picture.

When Sheryl asks Archer why he stood her up at a restaurant again, he comments "Have you seen Brian's Song? Same thing pretty much happened. I helped a guy with cancer." Brian's Song, a movie based on the events of football player Gale Sayers helping a fellow football player Brian Piccolo deal with his diagnosis of terminal cancer.

Stuff you may have missed:

Archer repeatedly attempts to use "misdirection" as a means of escaping people who want to talk about his dept.
  •   While walking into the laundromat, the clerk asks him when he will settle his account and Archer asks him when he is going to buy some dress shields. The clerk falls for it and begins telling Archer he isn't wearing a dress.
  • When Cyril brings up discrepancies in Archer's operational account, he begins loudly talking about Cyril's relationship with his ex-girlfriend, Lanah. Only after Archer leaves does he realize he was using misdirection.

When leaving Malory Archer's office, she comments that he needs to take a shower because it "smells like a whorehouse in here", to which he says "Okay, your-own-fingers" then right before leaving he says "Johnny Bench called". Johnny Bench was a Cincinnati Reds baseball catcher from 1967 to 1983. There are two schools of thought on what this reference means. The first holds that it is a reference based on his autobiography's name Catch You Later; and the phrase "Johnny Bench called" is a replacement for the phrase "catch you later". The other camp holds that it is the first half of the would-be joke: "Johnny Bench called, he wants his glove back". Here given the context of conversation, and considering the general shape and purpose to a leather baseball glove, we can understand this is a likely contended to be the joke.
